From the Stockacher Hof to the Memminger Hut
Day three was a tough one! After breakfast Dad and I prepared for the long high up the Madau-valley. Most of the E5 Alp-crossing hikers take a taxi here, and so did Mam, bringing along our backpacks up to the cable-car station which leads to the Memminger-hut, today's accommodation. What a lovely valley! Flowers, cows, spectacular mountains.. and in the middle of all this a cozy restaurant with the world's best "Kaiserschmarrn" (a somehow exploded pancake with apple jam). Despite the lack of mobile coverage we met at the cable-car on time and sent our backpacks up to the hut, which was a steep 900 meters above us. Again it was extremely hot to start with, then getting cooler as we climbed higher. Very tired we arrived at the hut, but after a rich dinner the energy came back quickly, and Dad and I decided to climb another 200m upwards to the summit of the Seekogel and we were rewarded with a stunning sunset!
